What's my favorite founding value at Enterprise? Hands down, it would have to be, "Our doors are open," because that is Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The architects of this company have created an environment that is wide open to opportunity for anyone who's driven to succeed.

Thirty days into my job, I remember wondering, "Wow, what is this job at Enterprise going to be like?" I found out pretty quickly that I had made the best decision of my life. I'm a meat and potatoes person who looks at the world very practically. And what I can say is, this is a company that has helped me define who I am today: a great businessman, husband, father and corporate citizen.

Because of the way we do business, Enterprise has also been the perfect vehicle to become connected to a community. The Chamber of Commerce named me Man of the Year while I was working in Baton Rouge — something I never would have imagined could happen in my life. I strongly believe every person needs to have a sense of purpose to feel significant in the world. Enterprise has given me free rein to set and accomplish my goals — and that's the biggest indication that a company really backs what it says about being a great place to work.
