Fred's Story
Fred Abdelnour
Group Relations Manager, Southern California, CAMy family came from Egypt to the United States when I was two years old. When I began working here, career goals were not my focus. I was concerned with helping my family make ends meet. When I joined Enterprise, I was looking for a secure job with a good company. What I found was a great job with the best company.
I began my career with Enterprise as an intern in the mailroom of our group headquarters. I later moved into a position in Loss Control and then to ELCO Liability Claims before becoming the Human Resources Manager in West Los Angeles.
Today, after 18 years with the company, I serve as Group Relations Manager. I am responsible for community relations, government relations and supplier diversity for the Southern California area of our company.
When I began my career, I was pleasantly surprised by the commitment I received from others regarding my success. Management is completely vested in making sure you can achieve success. It was always made clear that if you focused on working hard, great things would happen.
I really enjoy the diversity of the people that I get to work with in Southern California. We have people from all walks of life and there is a genuine interest among everyone to improve the community and make it a better place to live.
At Enterprise, we strengthen our communities, one neighborhood at a time. For me, making an impact on the lives of children is what is most important, and Enterprise has always given me the resources to make that happen.
My family is very important to me so, when I'm not working, I spend every ounce of time with my wife, Michelle, and my two sons, Andrew and Matthew. We enjoy going to the park and just spending quality time together.
I love coming to work every day, and I am proud to say that I work for Enterprise. We've become a respected brand in our industry and it's incredible to walk into a room and have people admire you, not because of who you are, but because of the company you work for. To me, that's proof that our company is not only a successful business leader, but also a leader in the community.
